BIOFUELS NEED TO DROPPED ACCORDING TO OECD.......

WELL, THE TRUTH WILL ALWAYS SURFACE. WHAT A KICK IN THE SHINS ON BIOFUELS. I KNOW, I KNOW, BUT REMEMBER I TOLD YOU SO. This just plain makes sense. REMEMBER PET ROCKS. Gee, I was not stupid enough to buy a pet rock. The world is being sucked into a giant pit of endless spend spend spend and biofuels will not help very much. The down side of biofuels is not good for the environment.

Governments need to scrap subsidies for biofuels, as the current rush to support alternative energy sources will lead to surging food prices and the potential destruction of natural habitats, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development will warn on Tuesday.
The OECD will say in a report to be discussed by ministers on Tuesday that politicians are rigging the market in favour of an untried technology that will have only limited impact on
climate change.

The survey says biofuels would cut energy-related emissions by 3 per cent at most. This benefit would come at a huge cost, which would swiftly make them unpopular among taxpayers.
The study estimates the US alone spends $7bn (€5bn) a year helping make ethanol, with each tonne of carbon dioxide avoided costing more than $500. In the EU, it can be almost 10 times that.

THE ABOVE STATEMENTS ARE THE KNIVES CUTTING THE JUGULAR VEIN OF BIOFUELS. THE U.S. WILL PAY MORE THAN $500.00 PER TONNE OF CO2 AVOIDED WHILE MAKING ETHANOL.

The end result will be billions spent, no noticeable effect on global warming (MAN CANNOT CHANGE THIS), higher prices for food and destruction of natural habitats, not including the extra fuel and fertilizers will be used and just plain wasted for the amount of return they will offer.

WE HAVE OIL ALL OVER THE PLACE. WHEN DO WE START DRILLING???? WAKE UP FOLKS, BIOFUELS ARE GOING TO BE A NIGHTMARE AND THE HORRORS HAVE JUST STARTED. WHO'S GONNA PAY FOR ALL THE WASTE FROM THESE FUELS WHEN THE FEDS DROP THEIR KICKBACK PER GALLON FOR THE BIOFUELS AND THE PRODUCERS WANT TO BAIL OUT BECUASE THEY WILL LOOSE MONEY WITHOUT THE KICKBACK???

Biofuels may harm more than help

In a report on the impact of biofuels, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said biofuels may "offer a cure that is worse than the disease they seek to heal".

"The current push to expand the use of biofuels is creating unsustainable tensions that will disrupt markets without generating significant environmental benefits," the OECD said.

"When acidification, fertilizer use, biodiversity loss and toxicity of agricultural pesticides are taken into account, the overall environmental impacts of ethanol and biodiesel can very easily exceed those of petrol and mineral diesel," it added.

Ask the manufacturers of biodiesel what they do with all the hazardous waste that is generated from making biodiesel. A dirty little secret that remains covered up. True, some folks can recycle the waste byproducts, but not all manufacturers can afford to redistill and pay to have the wastes hauled off.

IMAGINE THIS, SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, I HAD A CHEMICAL COMPANY IN N.J. CONTACT ME TO KNOW WHERE THEY COULD MOVE OVER A MILLION GALLONS OF BIODIESEL FUEL THAT HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED UP AND RE-DISTILLED TO GET THE BIODIESEL SEPARATED FROM THE WASTE BYPRODUCTS. COSTS ARE TO EXPENSIVE TO TRANSPORT TO ANOTHER FACILITY AND THEN YOU STILL HAVE THE WASTE BY PRODUCTS TO DISPOSE OF IF NOT RECYLCED AND RE-USED. HMMM, WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN TO ALL THE SMALL COMPANIES MAKING BIODIESEL WHEN THE GOVERNMENT STOPS PAYING THEIR KICK BACK TO THE PRODUCERS. I BET BIODIESEL WILL GET IN SHORT SUPPLY.

COMPLETE FOOTPRINT OF BIOFUEL, OR IS IT??

Growing corn for ethanol is going to do more damage than good received from ethanol production. The research supports this fact overwhelmingly. I have been saying this all along.
NO ONE steps UP and reports the REAL facts except the data THAT sounds good TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL FOLKS WHO WORSHIP GW.

Corn grown ethanol made in the U.S. will pollute more, cost more to produce and don't forget what the costs will be for fertilizers and extra fuel for harvesting. Remember, the E85 fuels sounds good, but you have to order a special engine from General Motors to burn the fuel and the engine is an extra cost option in their vehicles.
What about older vehicles burning E85, and if you live in the midwest where ethanol refineries are located, than that is a different situation. Also, where are the E85 pumps in our area, other areas. I have not seen any in Georgia.

NET RESULT, NOT VERY FAVORABLE. DID YOU FORGET WHAT THE CORN USED FOR ETHANOL WILL DO TO FOOD COSTS???

WAKE UP FOLKS, ARE THERE ARE BETTER PRODUCTS FOR ETHANOL PRODUCTION IN THE U.S. THAN CORN?? Yes research dollars are being spent in this area and some answers will be revealed.
Let's spend our time investing our dollars into THE BEST PRODUCTS TO PRODUCT ETHANOL instead of just rushing to decide corn grown in the U.S. will be the only answer to our fuel woes.
