CLIMATE CHANGE MAY BE CAUSING COUGAR ATTACKS..........
CANMORE, Alta. -- A combination of warm winters and Alberta's population boom is causing a recent jump in cougar attacks, says a spokesman for the government agency that collects cougar-related data.
The province's cougar population has jumped this year because recent warm winters have pushed up the population of deer, elk and moose -- the cougars' natural prey, said Darcy Whiteside with Alberta Sustainable Resource Development.
"These are natural fluctuations," Whiteside said on Wednesday. "But they're compounded by the fact that municipalities are expanding into natural areas. A lot more people are living, camping and hiking in those areas, too."
I would be more inclined to think that as we take away the habitat of animals, build houses in their environment, push them out of their habitat, GO CAMPING AND VENTURE INTO THEIR DOMAIN, man is causing the problem, not climate change.

The airing of the documentary was supposed to give an opportunity for Australians to hear arguments opposing the existence of global warning. Durkin’s documentary featured criticism of the science and indeed the business surrounding climate change. Of 528 total papers on climate change, only 38 (7%) gave an explicit endorsement of the consensus. If one considers "implicit" endorsement (accepting the consensus without explicit statement), the figure rises to 45%. However, while only 32 papers (6%) reject the consensus outright, the largest category (48%) are neutral papers, refusing to either accept or reject the hypothesis. This is no "consensus."

About 1,000 delegates from 158 nations are meeting in Vienna this week to discuss ways to extend the U.N.'s Kyoto Protocol for fighting warming beyond 2012 and to widen it to include outsiders such as the United States and developing nations .
WHAT THIS MEETING MEANS IS THAT THE U.N. is trying to figure out how they can spend billions of the worlds dollars on their seudo science and religion.

I will say it again. When you have the scientific evidence that man is causing global warming, then let's determine the best way to spend our money to resolve such a problem. DiCaprio's movie, The 11th Hour, is another example of anti-forestry scare tactics, this time said to be "brilliant and terrifying" by James Christopher of the London Times.

But, speaking at the MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival yesterday, Newsnight's editor, Peter Barron, and the BBC's head of television news, Peter Horrocks, attacked the plan, which also seems to contradict the corporation's guidelines. Asked whether the BBC should campaign on issues such as climate change, Mr Horrocks said: "I absolutely don't think we should do that because it's not impartial. It's not our job to lead people and proselytise about it." Mr Barron said: "It is absolutely not the BBC's job to save the planet. For all you non-metric folks, 25 meters equals 82 feet, or about as high as an eight-story building. "Several meters" is only about 9-15 feet. That's the wall of water that is going to drown all the coastal plains of the world if Hansen's predictions come to pass.

But now one of the most hotly contended pitches out there is for the Alliance for Climate Protection, the organization formed last year by Al Gore.
Four elite agencies -- Crispin Porter & Bogusky, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, the Martin Agency and Y&R -- are squaring off for the business and are expected to present to the former vice president himself early next month, according to executives familiar with the review.
The budget for the "historic, three-to-five-year, multimedia global campaign," as the request for proposals puts it, is contingent on how much money the alliance raises. Media spending will likely be more than $100 million a year.

Kill the pigeons by putting a bounty on each pidgeon. I bet the states would save a ton of money instead of paying for the bridges to be cleaned year after year. Also, this will eliminate those expensive moon suits the bridge cleaners have to wear to keep from getting sick when they clean the pidgeon crap.Trap the pidgeons and start selling them for a low cost beef substitute because the cost of beef is going to keep going up and we'll be lucky enough if we can afford tube steak. A WIN/WIN for everyone.

COMPLETE FOOTPRINT OF BIOFUEL, OR IS IT??
Growing corn for ethanol is going to do more damage than good received from ethanol production. The research supports this fact overwhelmingly. I have been saying this all along.
NO ONE steps UP and reports the REAL facts except the data THAT sounds good TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL FOLKS WHO WORSHIP GW.
Corn grown ethanol made in the U.S. will pollute more, cost more to produce and don't forget what the costs will be for fertilizers and extra fuel for harvesting. Remember, the E85 fuels sounds good, but you have to order a special engine from General Motors to burn the fuel and the engine is an extra cost option in their vehicles.
What about older vehicles burning E85, and if you live in the midwest where ethanol refineries are located, than that is a different situation. Also, where are the E85 pumps in our area, other areas. I have not seen any in Georgia.
NET RESULT, NOT VERY FAVORABLE. DID YOU FORGET WHAT THE CORN USED FOR ETHANOL WILL DO TO FOOD COSTS???

DRUNK DRIVING, A REAL KILLER OF PEOPLE WHEN WILL OUR CULTURE DECIDE ENOUGH IS ENOUGH???
MICHAEL VICK will go to prison because he was involved with fighting pitbulls. I do not agree with Mr. Vick and he should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. GET REAL PEOPLE. THESE ARE DOGS BUT WHERE IS THE PUBLIC OUTCRY FOR ALL THE DEATHS CAUSED BY DRUNK DRIVERS????? WELL, IT SEEMS OUR CULTURE HAS GOT TO THE POINT THAT PITBULL DOGS ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN PEOPLE'S LIVES............

But geee, we kill over 40,000 people a year on our highways and the dog fighting case with MR. VICK gets the most coveage and loudest screams from petlovers and others who read about death on the highways, but we have just accepted this as a part of our lives.
When was the last time someone got up or a group (other than MADD) stood up and cried out about this senless killings from drunk drivers. I am sure there are groups that have stood up and wanted something done about the plaque of drunk driving, but do you see them protesting at the liquor stores or at your favorite mini-store that sells wine and beer?? Not hardley.
LABOR DAY will be upon us in less than 2 weeks. How many innocent people, (babies, young people, parents and grandparents will die because of a serious car accident that involves a drunk driver.
If you are partying over LABOR DAY, DO NOT LET SOMEONE THAT HAS DRANK TOO MUCH, DRIVE A VEHICLE. STOP THEM, TAKE EM HOME OR GET A CAB.
IF A PERSON IS ALLOWED TO DRUNK DRIVE AND PEOPLE KNOW THEY ARE DRUNK AND LET THEM DRIVE, PLEASE STOP THEM FROM GETTING BEHIND THE WHEEL. IF THE DRUNK PERSON DRIVES, AND YOU KNOW THEY ARE DRUNK AND HAVE AN ACCIDENT,

I was in a serious car wreck my senior year in high school. The driver of a flat bed truck was weaving all over the road and jacked knife the trailer in a large curve. He had been drinking. The family driving in the other lane that hit the end of the trailer did not know the truck driver had been drinking and a father and infant died because a guy wanted a drink and then drove. I was creamed in our car when the other car hit us head on and we were sitting still. I had to suffer through a long summer with lost teeth, broken bones and plenty of pain, but my suffering was nothing compared to the mother and 3 other children that lost a sibbling, father/husband that day. To top off the anquish and hurt, the sister OF THE killed father was in the emegency room at the hospital when they brought him and the baby to the emergency room. The sister was an emergency room nurse on duty that day. Terrible ordeal to endure. Lord, how would you know how that feels until you have walked in their shoes.

CORN AFFECTING FOOD PRICES BESIDES OTHER FACTORS.
DUE TO GOVERNMENT MANDATES,CORN BEING GROWN FOR ETHANOL is helping drive up food prices. What so sad is that without the government subsidizing ethanol production (kick backs to the ethanol producer), there would be less interest in ethanol production. We don't even have any ethanol fuel pumps in our area. How many older cars will be able to burn the E85 fuel?
WE DON'T NEED TO USE DOMESTIC CORN for ethanol, there are other feedstocks that yield better ethanol than the corn being grown in the U.S.
Ethanol can be a great approach to getting us off the oil merry go round, but using corn, a main product in just about all food items in the U.S. is not the smartest route.
The farmers will grow more corn, make a mere pentance more for their corn and their costs will go up 20-30% because of higher fuel and fertilizer price increases.
I just post the info. But it is worth a look and see.

ENDEAVOUR'S SPACE SHUTTLE ASTRONAUTS MAY BE IN DANGER ON RETURN TRIP TO EARTH......
Will the space shuttle Endeavor be in jeopardy on its return flight to earth?
Pieces of foam came off the large fuel tanks and smashed into the bottom of the shuttle damaging the space tiles. Repairs will have to be made.
Funny, this is a common problem on the space shuttle. THE FOAM KEEPS TEARING OFF THE FUEL TANKS BECAUSE NASA CHANGED THE ADHESIVE IN THE FOAM SYSTEM FROM A SOLVENT BASED PRODUCT (THAT DEPLETES THE OZONE???) TO A WATER BASED PRODUCT. WHY? BECAUSE IT WAS MANDATED BY THE EPA BECAUSE OF THE OZONE DEPLETION LAW THAT WAS PASSED IN CLINTON/GORE REIGN.
This CHANGE was responbible for the Columbia shuttle to crash and kill its occupants on the return flight to earth. Foam coming off the fuel tanks and slamming into the heat tiles on the bottom of the shuttle during take off. This action of foam damage had never happened before on all the other shuttle space mission.
Unfortunately, it was too late for the Columbia crew. The damage to the heat tiles was severe enough therefore, the Columbia was not protected on re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. BOOM and the Columbia was history.
The Columbia's shuttle crew had to die to prove that a water based foaming system failed over a solvent based foam system?? What a waste of gifted people and expensive equipment.
A big question? How stupid can we be? Uhhh, as important as our astronauts are and as important as the space shuttle is, WHY NOT CONTINUE TO USE THE SOLVENT BASED FOAM INSTEAD OF THE WATER BASED FOAM? Another big question? How much will the ozone layer be affected by the amount of solvent used in the foaming system to cover the fuel tanks? Bet it is low enough amount to justify using the solvent system. NASA needs to get the EPA to give a special variance to be able to go back to the old foaming system.
Since the foam system was changed to a water based product, there has been an issue with the foam coming off and slamming into the shuttle's under side on every shuttle mission. Duhh, how hard is this to figure out? If your son or daughter were going to fly on the space shuttle, would you want to have the best system available to apply the foam to the fuel tanks to prevent another Columbia disaster????? As John Stossell says: "GIVE ME A BREAK".

Pieces of foam came off the large fuel tanks and smashed into the bottom of the shuttle damaging the space tiles. Repairs will have to be made.
Funny, this is a common problem on the space shuttle. THE FOAM KEEPS TEARING OFF THE FUEL TANKS BECAUSE NASA CHANGED THE ADHESIVE IN THE FOAM SYSTEM FROM A SOLVENT BASED PRODUCT (THAT DEPLETES THE OZONE???) TO A WATER BASED PRODUCT. WHY? BECAUSE IT WAS MANDATED BY THE EPA BECAUSE OF THE OZONE DEPLETION LAW THAT WAS PASSED IN CLINTON/GORE REIGN.
This CHANGE was responbible for the Columbia shuttle to crash and kill its occupants on the return flight to earth. Foam coming off the fuel tanks and slamming into the heat tiles on the bottom of the shuttle during take off. This action of foam damage had never happened before on all the other shuttle space mission.
Unfortunately, it was too late for the Columbia crew. The damage to the heat tiles was severe enough therefore, the Columbia was not protected on re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. BOOM and the Columbia was history.
The Columbia's shuttle crew had to die to prove that a water based foaming system failed over a solvent based foam system?? What a waste of gifted people and expensive equipment.

BRITIAN CANNOT MEET THE TIME LIMITATION REQUIRMENTS FOR THE EU RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCE

What do these people think? I am all for renewable energy, getting off of the black gold and being less dependent on foreign imports of oil. FOLKS, WAKE UP. These programs take time to get in place and who will pay for all the re-tooling and costs to use alternate energy sources?
There will be a time in the near future that we will be able to wean off the oil with other energy sources, but it will take time and lots of money for this change.

CARBON TAX AND CARBON CREDITS
Just a few words on carbon tax and carbon credits.
Wake up folks for all you who have not paid attention to all the hype and rhetoric concerning GLOBAL WARMING, CARBON TAX AND CARBON CREDITS.
There is a big push in many governments, the U.N. and the U.S. to impose a carbon tax on various industries that are causing or so some experts say GLOBAL WARMING. That would include power plants, even automobiles and all types of industry that produces green house gases???? Hey, cows and humans will not be able to pass gass because they will be taxed and then someone will want to sell you a sheet of paper called a CARBON CREDIT for a $1000.00. There is even research going on to make special feed so cows won't blow in the wind. What about the cow piles? They will release brown house gases as they evaporate.
I will sell you carbon credits all day long for $500.00 and plant a little pine tree in your name for each $100.00 you pay. Get the picture?
Well, as we can all see, growing corn for ethanol production is driving up meat and milk prices, causing shortages and some restaurants are having trouble with beef supplies. You say, well so what.
Well, for youR information the PRICE INCREASES have just started.
A lot of small cattle herds are being sold off this summer because of increased grain and hay prices. I talked to a man at the Lansing Mi. airport in April and he said because of increased feed prices and having to buy additional hay, he was selling of his cattle herd as soon as he got back to Georgia. Even some of the large beef herds that grow premier breeding stock are having mature cow dispersals this fall. Reason: increased fuels costs and grain costs. Again you say so what. Well, with this happening, we will see even more pressure on prices for milk, bread, meat (beef, chicken and pork) and any other products affected by increased grain prices and shortages that will in turn mean higher prices to the consumer (US) at our grocery stores.
Well, on top of all this going on in the food and grain markets, these carbon taxes go into effect and then if we are stupid enough to buy the so called "carbon credits", our spending funds will be strained more than ever. LARGE COMPANIES AND AL GORE PURCHASE CARBON CREDITS. FOR WHAT REASON? Makes them feel good, they are doing there part for GW as they pass the cost on to the consumer.
Speaking of "carbon credits", they have been for sale on EBAY and for a $1000.00 someone would issue you carbon credits, plant a tree or trees in your behalf and you get a fancy certificate.
So the hype and scams go on. Watch out about the carbon credits. Contact you Senator or U.S Representative and tell them before they start passingcarbon taxes on industry American, they should look at cutting their lousy spending habits with our money and stop flying private jets all over the world at tax payers expense and stop paying the cost with carbon credits. WHAT A JOKE.
A CUP OF CO2 FOR YOU TODAY? That will be 3 carbon credits and a carbon tax of 10 cents.
