Chill out over global warming

This article was written on 12/26/06 and I was going through my notes today on GLOBAL WARMING ISSUES and I came across this article.

This was a great read on 12/26/06 and it is still a great read today.

Think about this article, much hasn't changed in the GW pseduo science of fear and misinformation, but what has changed is the GW GOVERNMENT MOON BATS are cranking out all kinds of tax bills that will eventually cripple the world economy if they keep on at their current pace of spend, spend, spend, but no real effects on cutting the CO2 EMISSIONS.

FOLKS, all of this will come to a point in the near future, but if we set back and say nothing, expect to get spent into oblivion.

Start by challenging global warming hysteria next time you're at a Lo Do cocktail party and see what happens.
Admittedly, I possess virtually no expertise in science. That puts me in exactly the same position as most dogmatic environmentalists who want to craft public policy around global warming fears.

The only inconvenient truth about global warming, contends Colorado State University's Bill Gray, is that a genuine debate has never actually taken place. Hundreds of scientists, many of them prominent in the field, agree.

Gray is perhaps the world's foremost hurricane expert. His Tropical Storm Forecast sets the standard. Yet, his criticism of the global warming "hoax" makes him an outcast.

Al Gore (not a scientist) has definitely been heard - and heard and heard. His documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth," is so important, in fact, that Gore crisscrosses the nation destroying the atmosphere just to tell us about it.

"Let's just say a crowd of baby boomers and yuppies have hijacked this thing," Gray says. "It's about politics. Very few people have experience with some real data.

I think that there is so much general lack of knowledge on this GW.
I've been at this over 50 years down in the trenches working, thinking and teaching."

NASA Examines Arctic Sea Ice Changes Leading to Record Low in 2007

The scientists observed less perennial ice cover in March 2007 than ever before, with the thick ice confined to the Arctic Ocean north of Canada. Consequently, the Arctic Ocean was dominated by thinner seasonal ice that melts faster. This ice is more easily compressed and responds more quickly to being pushed out of the Arctic by winds. Those thinner seasonal ice conditions facilitated the ice loss, leading to this year's record low amount of total Arctic sea ice. Nghiem said the rapid decline in winter perennial ice the past two years was caused by unusual winds.

"Unusual atmospheric conditions set up wind patterns that compressed the sea ice, loaded it into the Transpolar Drift Stream and then sped its flow out of the Arctic," he said. When that sea ice reached lower latitudes, it rapidly melted in the warmer waters. "The winds causing this trend in ice reduction were set up by an unusual pattern of atmospheric pressure that began at the beginning of this century," Nghiem said.

UK Court Said Schools Must Warn of Bias in 'An Inconvenient Truth'


Conveniently, the American media is largely ignoring a significant statement from a UK High Court judge who said Al Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth” promotes “partisan political views” and the schools should treat it as such.

As a result the British government was forced to rewrite their website and their “guidance” and will need to issue a warning before showing the film.

Even though the wire services AP and UPI covered this story, it has largely gone unreported in America, unlike in England. UK’s Daily Mail covered the story in this October 3 article

Sun still main force in climate change Rebuts widely publicized study this summer by UK scientists

Despite the claim of a heavily publicized recent study, the sun still appears to be the main agent in global climate change, according to new research by Danish scientists.

The study by the Danish National Space Center rebuts a July study by UK scientists who allege there has not been a solar-climate link in the past 20 years.

The Danish researchers, Henrik Svensmark and Eigil Friis-Christensen, contend the UK study erroneously relies on surface air temperature, which, they say, "does not respond to the solar cycle."

The researchers explained it's "customary to attribute to greenhouse gases any increase in global temperatures not due to solar changes."
"While that is reasonable," they say, "one cannot distinguish between the effects of anthropogenic gases such as carbon dioxide and of natural greenhouse gases."

WHAT IS BECOMING APPARENT IN THE GLOBAL WARMING ISSUE is that as more research and legitimate scientific data is discovered, this data completely refutes the GW MOONBATS AND THEIR PSEUDO SCIENCE RELIGION OF GLOBAL WARMING.

Some Caribbean forests were at their densest for the past 2000 years during the 'Little Ice Age', new research shows.
As more and more research is done, additional true facts about global warming will be brought forward for the public to read about.

This forest growth was not expected, because other areas in the region were cool and dry, but the curious finding shows that the effects of climate change can vary from place to place, say researchers.
From approximately 1350 to 1850, the Little Ice Age cooled low latitudes and dried the Caribbean including the Yucatan Peninsula. So you might expect to see evidence of this dry spell further west along the Gulf of Campeche, says Maria Lozano-Garcia, a palaeontologist at the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

EUROPE KEEPS YELLING AT THE U.S. TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING, GEE IT'S SAD THAT THEIR CO2 OUTPUT IS A GROWING MORE PER YEAR THAN THE U.S.....

FOLKS, THE WORLD WANTS YOU TO THINK THAT THE U.S. is the worst polluter and our emissions are rising faster than the rest of the world.

THIS IS NOT TRUE.........................

Today’s Washington Post story was replete with pompous and absurd proclamations – the pompous being the Danish Environment Minister claiming that she and her ilk “are getting a bit impatient, not on our own behalf but on behalf of the planet.” The condemnations of the US included “unusually blunt language” about how the rest of the world are waiting for the US to act, and that it is the US resistance to adopting a particular approach to addressing emissions that jeopardizes the climate.
Not China, India, Mexico and 155 countries representing the vast majority of emissions seeing theirs skyrocket; certainly not the EU.


We know that the US CO2 emissions are going up at a much slower rate than the EU-15 ("Europe" per Kyoto). We know that, as a result of the EU-15's obvious failure to reduce emissions, even Cf. 1990 (with the gift that that baseline was to them, for reasons of unrelated UK and DE political decisions), the EU-likes to redefine Europe. They do this to boast on the EU-25 doing this or that -- usually, being on target to meet its [sic] Kyoto promise...there not being an EU-25 Kyoto promise, but one collective promise for the EU-15 and 10 different other individual promises, plus 2 countries that are exempt from Kyoto. They do this now as a way to ride the economic collapse of Eastern Europe, reclaiming the hoped-for benefits of the 1990 baseline that slipped away for the more developed EU countries.

It turns out that a quick review indicates that real EU-25 CO2 emissions have increased more than the US since, say, 2000, by a third as much (133.1%) in fact. If my numbers are right, that means +177.7 MMT for the EU-25 in 2005 Cf. 2000, as compared to the US's +133.5 MMT 2005 over 2000, per the Energy Information Administration numbers (I have only just done this and do not know how it holds for older baselines, e.g., 1997 being the only potentially relevant year).

And oh, dear, even without the EU-10, the EU-15, "Old Europe" – a smaller economy than the US's – increased emissions by 161.67 MMT to the US's 133.5 over the same period; that is our climate hectors have increased real emissions more than the US’s, in real terms, by 21%. UH OH, IT SEEMS THE U.S. IS LAGGING BEHIND...........

So there is no need to rely on the "in percentage terms" qualifier when noting that Europe's emissions have risen faster than the US's (as Kyoto defines Europe). Instead, it appears that Europe's emissions (as Kyoto defines Europe, and certainly as Europe defines Europe, including for these purposes) have not only increased much faster than the US's but also that the EU has increased CO2 emissions much more than the US.

Somewhere in those layers of editors, have reporters lost the ability to perform basic research? In the case of Reuters reporter Jeff Mason, it would seem to be so. Mason wrote an article on California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's Monday speech on global warming, in which he wrote,

President George W. Bush pulled the United States out of the Kyoto accord, saying it unfairly burdened rich countries while exempting developing countries like China and India.

THE ABOVE STATEMENT IS NOT TRUE.....

This is a startling revision of history. Apparently Mason forgot, if he ever knew, that although then-President Bill Clinton signed Kyoto, he never submitted the Kyoto treaty to the Senate for ratification. And according to Wikipedia's entry for Kyoto,

Climate Change: Did NASA scientist James Hansen, the global warming alarmist in chief, once believe we were headed for . . . an ice age? An old Washington Post story indicates he did.

On July 9, 1971, the Post published a story headlined "U.S. Scientist Sees New Ice Age Coming." It told of a prediction by NASA and Columbia University scientist S.I. Rasool. The culprit: man's use of fossil fuels.
The Post reported that Rasool, writing in Science, argued that in "the next 50 years" fine dust that humans discharge into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuel will screen out so much of the sun's rays that the Earth's average temperature could fall by six degrees.
Sustained emissions over five to 10 years, Rasool claimed, "could be sufficient to trigger an ice age."

GREEN IS THE THEME AT FRANFURT INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW......IS THIS TRICK OR TREAT?????

FRANKFURT - Green is the colour at the Frankfurt International Motor Show, with carmakers tripping over each other to make eyebrow-raising claims their vehicles are "clean" and environmentally friendly.

"When it comes to camouflage, tricks and deceit, the German carmakers are world champions," said Werner Reh, traffic expert at Germany's BUND environmental group.

"Instead of incorporating available fuel savings technology in their mass production, they're trying to refashion their image as environmentally friendly with a massive campaign."

Only time will tell. I have a question for General Motors Corp. Why are they so bent on pushing E85 fuel and selling E85 engines in their vehicles when there are no E85 filling stations in our area?? E85 will not be the answer. Also, how smart are we to pay a premium for E85 and then your vehicle gets less gas mileage and pollutes more, this is shear madness.

So, we've had hot weather in Dalton, Ga. this summer, but nothing like the heat in 1982. The climate is going to do what the climate will do. There are other factors that are effecting our weather and the sun is a main culprit.

Where are the GW RELIGIOUS PUNDITS that have proven GW is caused by CO2 or MAN???????

I know where there is $100,000.00 to be claimed by the first person who can prove this hypothesis of GW via proven scientific methods.

The BBC's coverage of Al Gore's Live Earth concert in July proved a flop with viewers. It averaged just 2.7 million viewers across five hours from 5.30pm on BBC1, compared with an average of nearly 9 million for the Diana memorial concert a week earlier.

AL, PEOPLE WANT ACTION, NOT HOT AIR AND EMPTY RHETORIC

Negative reaction to this summer’s flop Live Earth concert, promoted by Al Gore, the former US Vice-President, was cited as a factor.

The BBC announced today that the project has been scrapped.

Viewers told the BBC to present the debate around climate change in an informed and rigorous manner. They did not want to be lectured by wealthy pop stars and entertainers.
