Obama said he would force industries and power companies to clean up their operations. He would institute a "cap and trade" approach that would require polluters to buy allowances, essentially putting a price on pollution and creating an incentive to cut emissions.

ALSO, A SIMILAR PLAN IS BEING PROPOSED BY SENATOR ARLAN SPECTOR AND LIKEWISE, IT JUST WILL NOT WORK. CO2 IS NOT THE PROBLEM. SAD, SAD, SAD, PEOPLE THAT ARE SUPPOSE TO KNOW OR CAN GET THE INFORMATION TO MAKE A SOUND DECISION, JUST WILL NOT GET IT AND NEVER WILL.

Global Warming’s Trillion-Dollar Turkey

Last July, this column reported that the latest global warming bill — the Low Carbon Economy Act of 2007, introduced by Sens. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M. and Arlen Specter, R-Pa. — would cost taxpayers more than $1 trillion in its first 10 years and untold trillions of dollars in subsequent decades. This week, the EPA sent its analysis of the bill’s impact on climate to Bingaman and Specter.

Now we can see what we’d get for our money, and we may as well just build a giant bonfire with the cash and enjoy toasting marshmallows over it. For reference purposes, the current level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is about 380 parts per million. The EPA estimates that if no action is taken to curb CO2 emissions, the atmospheric concentration of CO2 would be 718 ppm by 2095.
If the Bingaman-Specter bill were implemented, however, the EPA estimates that CO2 levels would be 695 ppm — a whopping reduction of 23 ppm.

The Bingaman-Specter bill, then, would cost taxpayers trillions of dollars and produce virtually nothing in terms of temperature outcome. But the pain of Bingaman-Specter doesn’t stop with trillions of taxpayer dollars. The heart of the Bingaman-Specter bill is a so-called cap-and-trade system in which CO2 emission limits (caps) would be decreed and certain businesses and other special interest group emitters (such as farmers and states) would be given permits to emit CO2.

Magazine's Senior Editor dismisses 'fairness/accuracy/balance' in climate change reporting because deniers lack 'empirical merit.'

Slanting media coverage toward promoting the “fight global warming” cause wasn’t enough for Newsweek editor Sharon Begley. Now she has brazenly dismissed global warming skeptics as unreasonable lunatics.

Begley, a senior editor for the magazine, recently defended its August 13 issue that focused on the climate change “denial machine.” On the new The Yale Forum on Climate Change & The Media Web site, Begley compared global-warming skepticism to moon-landing denial.

Report: Millions Wasted on Gov't Travel

WASHINGTON (AP) - Federal employees wasted at least $146 million over a one-year period on business- and first-class airline tickets, in some cases simply because they felt entitled to the perk, congressional investigators say.

The review of travel spending by more than a dozen agencies from July 1, 2005, to June 30, 2006, found 67 percent of premium-class travel by executives or their employees, worth at least $146 million, was unauthorized or otherwise unjustified.

Among the worst offenders: the State Department, whose employees typically fly abroad on official business.

Quebec introduces carbon tax, Canada CEOs urge more

WELL, here it goes, the introduction of a carbon tax in Canada.

My question is: IS THIS CARBON TAX GOING TO BE USED IN AREAS OF REDUCING GLOBAL WARMING OR IS THE TAX JUST ANOTHER WAY OF RAISING DOLLARS FOR THE GW MOONBATS TO SPEND ON OTHER PROJECTS?????

First thing we do, let's kill all the cows, because the globe is warming, catastrophe is headed our way, and the worldwide cattle industry is largely responsible, a far worse peril to climate stability than SUVs and, for that matter, all the cars, trucks, planes and other modes of transportation in glorious combination.

Data about the world's 1.5 billion cattle and other livestock generating 18 percent of the greenhouse gases released in the atmosphere comes from a 400-page U.N. report that just might make Al Gore squirm when he speaks in Denver in October. An animal rights group -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals -- plans to protest his eating of meat in contradiction to the crusade he's been waging.
We all know about that crusade. The former vice president has traveled hither and yon warning about warming. He won an Oscar for his cataclysm-predicting movie, "An Inconvenient Truth," and just might get a Nobel Prize for the campaign, all of which has led some mischievous souls to ponder the hypocrisy of his living in a house that uses 12 times the electricity of the average abode. He notes that he gives to causes that offset his carbon emissions, which is a bit like mugging the elderly on darkened street corners but excusing yourself by contributing to a nearby senior citizens center. AL GORE OWNS THE COMPANY THAT HE BUYS HIS CARBON CREDITS FROM. WHAT A CROCK. WHAT A WASTE OF ENERGY BY THIS HYPOCRIT. AL WARMING GORE, WHAT A GUY.

Aviation accounts for no more than 2% of greenhouse gas production. That's all of the aviation around the world. But warmers are worried that the ability of airlines to offer cheap flights, combined with economic growth is going to create a huge boom in the airline business.

CLIMATE CHANGE MAY BE CAUSING COUGAR ATTACKS..........

CANMORE, Alta. -- A combination of warm winters and Alberta's population boom is causing a recent jump in cougar attacks, says a spokesman for the government agency that collects cougar-related data.
The province's cougar population has jumped this year because recent warm winters have pushed up the population of deer, elk and moose -- the cougars' natural prey, said Darcy Whiteside with Alberta Sustainable Resource Development.
"These are natural fluctuations," Whiteside said on Wednesday. "But they're compounded by the fact that municipalities are expanding into natural areas. A lot more people are living, camping and hiking in those areas, too."

I would be more inclined to think that as we take away the habitat of animals, build houses in their environment, push them out of their habitat, GO CAMPING AND VENTURE INTO THEIR DOMAIN, man is causing the problem, not climate change.


LIKEWISE, if we are going to swim in shark infested waters, there may be a chance of getting bitten. CLIMATE CHANGE AT ITS BEST............
