ETHANOL IS WORSE THAN OIL, UH OH..........THE CAT IS OUT OF THE BAG
DON'T SAY I TOLD YOU SO.
ETHANOL IS A LOUSY FUEL SUBSTITUTE, CREATES MORE GREENHOUSE GASES, WILL COST MORE TO PRODUCE AND GETS LOUSY MILEAGE.
There is a Keystones Kops quality to the whole Global Warming Panic. Not only can no one say for sure if the Earth is warming or cooling — or whether that is necessarily a bad thing — but no one can prove that man has anything to do with it. But of course that is not stopping politicians from their do-something games, even if they are not quite sure whether what they do improves or worsens matters.
Now comes a report out of England that biofuels from corn and rapeseed create 50%-70% more greenhouse gasses than petroleum.
What is sad is that the average American does not realize that their tax dollars are being spent on a technology that is worse than using petroleum for fuels. Also, what is stupid is our Congress has already passed laws that require the U.S. to be using a certain percentage of biofuels..

Instead we have billions of dollars handed over to corn farmers in the United States to produce a fuel that reduces MPG, harms the engine and may use more energy to produce than it creates (the studies on that point have been debated). And now it turns out that ethanol is more damaging to the atmosphere than oil. WHAT A CROCK.
Governments shouldn’t subsidize a damned thing. Let the marketplace take care of this. Had we simply done a few tax credits 30 years ago instead of creating the Department of Energy, we’d probably be done with oil by now.

Everyone should read this. I am not going to add any comments. This COLUMN was written by a black columnist and I appreciate him being so bold to write this column. Everyone, please take time and read this. We all have to be open to what is going on today and we all can make a difference.

It’s almost never mentioned that Bell’s absentee father returned from Dallas and re-entered his son’s life only after Bell faced attempted-murder charges. At a bond hearing in August, Bell’s father and a parade of local ministers promised a judge that they would supervise Bell if he was released from prison.
Where were the promises and supervision before any of this?
We don’t practice preventive medicine. Mychal Bell needed us long before he was cuffed and jailed. Here is another undeniable, statistical fact: The best way for a black (or white) father to ensure that his son doesn’t fall victim to a racist prosecutor is by participating in his son’s life on a daily basis.
That fact needed to be shared Thursday in Jena. The constant preaching of that message would short-circuit more potential “Jena Six” cases than attributing random acts of six-on-one violence to three-month-old nooses.

I can remember going to a Federal Government seminar back in the mid 90's and there was an EPA spokesmans that went over global warming for a few minutes to start getting the public use to hearing about it. PROVE TO ME THAT GW is caused by man and I will shut up.

Environmental groups petition U.S. to regulate air fresheners
I AM AN ASTHMATIC AND I CAN UNDERSTAND WHERE THESE GROUPS ARE COMING FROM THAT WANT AIR FRESHENERS TO BE CHECKED OUT. BUT I BELIEVE THE INDUSTRY SHOULD BE GIVEN A CHANCE TO REGULATE THEMSELVES. IF GOVERNMENT GETS INVOLVED, THEN THIS IS NOT ALWAY THE BEST SOLUTION EITHER.
The groups want the federal government to require manufacturers such as Procter & Gamble Co., S.C. Johnson, Dial Corp., Sara Lee Corp. and Reckitt Benckiser Inc. to conduct health and safety tests, including the respiratory effect of breathing the fresheners. Those test results should be handed over to regulators, who should also be alerted if there are reports of adverse reactions to the air fresheners, the groups said.
The environmental groups also want truth-in-advertising labeling that would require listing all ingredients in air fresheners. And the government should ban ingredients that would cause allergies or appear on California's Proposition 65 list of chemicals linked to cancer and reproductive harm, according to the petition.

"There is an increasing concern that in modern research, false findings may be the majority or even the vast majority of published research claims," Dr. Ioannidis said. "A new claim about a research finding is more likely to be false than true."
The hotter the field of research the more likely its published findings should be viewed skeptically, he determined.

An animal rights group -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals -- plans to protest his eating of meat in contradiction to the crusade he's been waging.
We all know about that crusade. The former vice president has traveled hither and yon warning about warming. He won an Oscar for his cataclysm-predicting movie, "An Inconvenient Truth," and just might get a Nobel Prize for the campaign, all of which has led some mischievous souls to ponder the hypocrisy of his living in a house that uses 12 times the electricity of the average abode. He notes that he gives to causes that offset his carbon emissions, which is a bit like mugging the elderly on darkened street corners but excusing yourself by contributing to a nearby senior citizens center. Global Swarming:
Is it time for Americans to start cutting our baby emissions?
What's the environmental cost of having a child? In the crudest terms, you've added another version of yourself into the world, which means you're potentially doubling your carbon-dioxide emissions over the total life of your family. That's a high estimate, since our kids won't spew as much greenhouse gas as we do—automobiles, appliances, light bulbs, and everything else will become more efficient in coming generations. But these marginal improvements aren't going to make our babies carbon-neutral. They'll just contribute to global warming at somewhat lower rates than we do.
Remember: for a nation to maintain enough people to maintain their population and not eventually be replaced by immigrants, each family needs to have around an average of 3 or 4 children per family. The UNITED STATES average is just below these figures. The European countries are headed for real problems since some of these countries have less than 1-2 children per year or almost 0 growth.
(Please do not hold me to these figures, but I read an article several months back that was written on this topic).

FRANKFURT - Green is the colour at the Frankfurt International Motor Show, with carmakers tripping over each other to make eyebrow-raising claims their vehicles are "clean" and environmentally friendly.
"When it comes to camouflage, tricks and deceit, the German carmakers are world champions," said Werner Reh, traffic expert at Germany's BUND environmental group.
"Instead of incorporating available fuel savings technology in their mass production, they're trying to refashion their image as environmentally friendly with a massive campaign."
Only time will tell. I have a question for General Motors Corp. Why are they so bent on pushing E85 fuel and selling E85 engines in their vehicles when there are no E85 filling stations in our area?? E85 will not be the answer. Also, how smart are we to pay a premium for E85 and then your vehicle gets less gas mileage and pollutes more, this is shear madness.

The end result will be billions spent, no noticeable effect on global warming (MAN CANNOT CHANGE THIS), higher prices for food and destruction of natural habitats, not including the extra fuel and fertilizers will be used and just plain wasted for the amount of return they will offer.

In a report on the impact of biofuels, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said biofuels may "offer a cure that is worse than the disease they seek to heal".
"The current push to expand the use of biofuels is creating unsustainable tensions that will disrupt markets without generating significant environmental benefits," the OECD said.
"When acidification, fertilizer use, biodiversity loss and toxicity of agricultural pesticides are taken into account, the overall environmental impacts of ethanol and biodiesel can very easily exceed those of petrol and mineral diesel," it added.

True, some folks can recycle the waste byproducts, but not all manufacturers can afford to redistill and pay to have the wastes hauled off.

CONTACT ME TO KNOW WHERE THEY COULD MOVE OVER A MILLION GALLONS OF BIODIESEL FUEL THAT HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED UP AND RE-DISTILLED TO GET THE BIODIESEL SEPARATED FROM THE WASTE BYPRODUCTS. COSTS ARE TO EXPENSIVE TO TRANSPORT TO ANOTHER FACILITY AND THEN YOU STILL HAVE THE WASTE BY PRODUCTS TO DISPOSE OF IF NOT RECYLCED AND RE-USED. IT APPEARS THAT EVERY WHERE WE TURN, THE CHINESE ARE PUTTING THE SCREWS TO THE U.S. AND U.S. GOVERNMENT.........
Tens of thousands of condoms provided free by the District to curb HIV-AIDS have been returned to the health department because of complaints that their paper packaging is easily damaged and could render the condoms ineffective.
In a city with some of the highest AIDS rates in the country, the government's effort to dispense up to 1 million condoms this year has drawn praise. But there has been little applause for the packets. The wrapper is emblazoned with the slogan "Coming Together to Stop HIV in D.C."

European Union proposals to reduce the climate impact of flying will not work, a report concludes.
Aviation accounts for no more than 2% of greenhouse gas production. That's all of the aviation around the world. But warmers are worried that the ability of airlines to offer cheap flights, combined with economic growth is going to create a huge boom in the airline business.
Thus, the world will be destroyed by the increase in emissions from aircrafts.

The observed warming trend is “unlikely to be entirely natural in origin.” In another report, the IPCC wrote, “There is new and stronger evidence that most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities” (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency).
The computer models used to forecast global climate change are still unable to accurately simulate how things may change at smaller scales.
